Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Fuel Pump, Electrical Connector, Housing & Fuel Pump Extension

  1. Install a NEW fuel pump seal (3)
    2. NOTE: Align the fuel pump electrical connector (6) with the fuel pump housing (2).
  2. Install the fuel pump (4) to the fuel pump housing (2).
    3. NOTE: Listen for and audible click to confirm the correct installation of the fuel pump (4) to fuel pump housing (2).
  3. Apply suitable pressure at the fuel pump extension (5) to install the fuel pump (4) to the fuel pump housing (2).
  4. Connect the fuel pump connector (1) to the fuel pump (4).
  5. Install the fuel filter. Refer to Fuel Filter Replacement .
  6. Install the fuel level sensor to the primary fuel tank module assembly. Refer to Fuel Level Sensor Replacement .
  7. Install the primary fuel tank module assembly to the fuel tank assembly. Refer to Primary Fuel Tank Module Replacement .
  8. Install the fuel tank assembly. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  9. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
