Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the PSCM.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for 10-200 Ω of resistance between the signal circuit terminal 1 and the signal circuit terminal 3.
    • If not within the specified range, test both signal circuits for an a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the steering column.
  3. Ignition OFF, test for 3K-10KΩ of resistance between the signal circuit terminal 6 and the signal circuit terminal 3.
    • If not within the specified range, test both signal circuits for an a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the steering column.
  4. Ignition OFF, test for 6K-20K Ω of resistance between the signal circuit terminal 5 and the signal circuit terminal 3.
    • If not within the specified range, test both signal circuits for an a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the steering column.
  5. Ignition OFF, test for greater than 1M Ω of resistance between the signal circuit terminal 3 and the motor flange.
    • If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the steering column.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the PSCM.
