Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel rail. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the fuel injector harness electrical connector(s) from the fuel injector(s).
  3. Remove the fuel injector retainer clip (3).
  4. Remove the fuel injectors (5) from the fuel rail.
    5. IMPORTANT: Visually inspect the fuel injector in order to determine if the upper O-ring was also removed. If the upper O-ring is not removed, remove the O-ring from the fuel rail assembly.
  5. Remove and discard the fuel injector O-rings (4, 7).
