Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief (With CH 48027)  or Fuel Pressure Relief (Without CH 48027) .
  2. Disconnect the fuel feed line quick connect fitting (4) from the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  3. Cap or plug the fuel line and the fuel rail to prevent contamination.
  4. Remove the fuel feed line retainers (1, 2) from the engine brackets.

  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  7. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement 
  8. Disconnect the fuel feed line (1) from the fuel filter. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  10. Remove the rear brake pipe bracket nuts and release the brackets from the body studs.

  12. Release the pipe retainers (1) from the vehicle underbody.
  13. Remove the fuel feed pipe from the pipe retainers.
  14. Lower the rear of the pipe while moving the pipe rearward slightly, then lower the front of the pipe.
  15. Remove the fuel feed pipe from the vehicle.
