Air Flow Sensor

  1. Fold back air flow sensor seal. Leave plug connected to air flow sensor. Connect a voltmeter to terminal 9 and ground. Turn ignition "ON". Voltmeter should show about 5 volts (911 Carrera), or more than 8 volts (944).
  2. Remove air filter. Connect voltmeter to terminal 7 and ground. Voltmeter should show .15-.25 volts.
  3. Insert a non-metallic rod through filter intake opening. Push sensor plate to full open position. Ensure sensor plate moves freely. Voltmeter should show about 4.5 volts (911 Carrera), or 8 volts or more (944) at full open position.
