Self-Diagnostic System: Notes

If a monitored component malfunctions, Digital Motor Electronics (DME) Electronic Control Module (ECM) stores Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). DTC, in most cases, is indicated by Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL). ECM is located under driver's seat. DTCs can be read using Porsche System Tester 2 or generic scan tool connected to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under left side of instrument panel, on side of console. See Figure.
