CONCERN
Proper coding of the instrument cluster after a new PCM is installed.
INFORMATION
As of model year 2000 (Y), the software which calculates total mileage and fuel consumption in the PCM has been changed. The software has also been changed in the instrument cluster to coincide with the PCM. If a new PCM is installed in an earlier vehicle, the instrument cluster will have to be reprogrammed with new correction numbers. Failure to do so will result in the instrument cluster displaying a different total mileage and fuel consumption than the PCM.
