Installing Occupant Detection Control Unit

Information 

If the occupant detection control unit (installed in the country equipment USA/Canada/Mexico) must be replaced, the repair kit compromising padding, occupant detection control unit and pressure sensor mat Must  always Be Replaced As A Complete Unit  .

The spare parts are grouped in a repair kit (comprising padding -1-, occupant detection control unit -2- and pressure sensor mat -3-), which must always be replaced as a complete unit. 

  1. Padding
  2. Occupant detection control unit
  3. Pressure sensor mat

A Mixed Installation  , e.g. "old" pressure sensor mat and "new" control unit, is Not Permitted  .

The padding, pressure sensor mat and occupant detection control unit are calibrated together by the manufacturer and must therefore only be replaced as a complete unit.

The occupant detection control unit must Not  be coded.

  1. Check that the seal is fitted at the correct position on the connector housing before fitting and locking it.

    Information 

    The connector of the occupant detection control unit must be inserted straight as otherwise the seal will be damaged. The seating of the seal must then be checked.

  2. Connect electric plug connection -arrow-  until the connector engages securely -arrow-  .

  3. Position occupant detection control unit on the holder -arrow-  so that the retaining lugs -2 and 3-  engage securely.
