Throttle Switch

  1. Loosen throttle switch retaining screws. With the throttle plate against the idle stop, slowly rotate throttle switch to wide open position until inner stop can be felt. Tighten switch retaining screws.
  2. Disconnect electrical connector from throttle switch and connect ohmmeter leads between terminal Nos. 7 and 9. With ignition off, resistance should be 0 ohms when throttle plate is fully closed and 15,000 ohms (minimum) when throttle is wide open.
  3. Move ohmmeter leads to terminals 9 and 10. Ohmmeter resistance should be 0 ohms when throttle plate is wide open and 15,000 ohms (minimum) when throttle plate is fully closed. If not, readjust throttle switch.
