Steering Columns: Description

Steering columns used on this model is a safety, telescopic type. The lower portion of the steering shaft is designed to retract into the upper portion when frontal impact is experienced. Steering column tube is mounted at one end to pedal bracket and at other end to body. An intermediate shaft, with "U" joints at each end, transmit steering column movement to steering gear. Models with power steering units are provided with a double "U" joint.
