Dashpot System: Maintenance: Dashpot
- Deceleration time can be altered by movement of the dashpot away or toward the throttle stop. Loosen dashpot lock nut. Adjust dashpot away from throttle stop for shorter deceleration time or toward stop for longer deceleration time.
- Run engine until normal operating temperature is obtained. Check that CO reading and ignition setting are within specification. Disconnect and plug ignition vacuum advance.
- Move throttle lever and note that dashpot rod strikes stop at specified RPM. Repeat checking procedure to ensure proper adjustment. Reconnect hose for ignition vacuum advance.
