ISSUE & TIP

Use the following procedure to replace upper and lower ball joints on Saab 900 models:

Cut four pieces of 1-inch square tubing, about 4-5 inches long.
Place two pieces of tubing under each upper control arm, while the vehicle is still on the ground. You may have to lean on the X Xl fender a little bit to fit the tubing into place.
Now raise the front wheels off the ground.
The tubing will wedge under the control arms, causing the suspension to "hang" and allowing you to change the ball joints easily.
