Spark Plugs
Spark plugs play an important part in controlling timing, turbo boost and throttle position because they are used as sensors in the combustion chambers. To check for proper operation of spark plugs, remove ignition discharge module (IDM). Remove spark plugs. Inspect for deposits or damage to porcelain or electrode. Replace if necessary. Gap plugs to .040" (1.0 mm). Apply Molykote 1000 or equivalent to spark plug threads before reinstalling. Tighten spark plugs to 28 ft. lbs (28 Nm). Apply Krytox (Part No. 30 19 312) to rubber IDM seals before installing IDM.
