Ground Circuit

  1. Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between specified ECM terminal and ground. See GROUND TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  table. See Figure . Resistance should be zero ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair open circuit between ECM and ground. See appropriate WIRING DIAGRAM under ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS.
  2. Start engine. Measure voltage between specified ECM terminal and ground. See GROUND TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  table. If one volt or more is present, inspect for open circuit, corrosion, or loose connection on appropriate circuit.
