Changing Generator, 4-CYL Diesel: Refitting

Clean and coat the generator contact surfaces and electrical connections with Vaseline, non-acidic.
Put the upper generator retaining bolt in place in the generator. Put the generator in place and insert the upper generator retaining bolt.

Raise the car.
Fit the lower generator retaining bolt.
Tightening torque: 47 Nm (35 lbf ft)
Fit the generator connectors.
IMPORTANT: Make a note of the belt's direction of rotation. The belt must be refitted for the same direction of rotation as previously.
Refit the multigroove V-belt.

NOTE: Make sure that the belt is correctly positioned on all the pulleys.
Fit the drive belt cover.

Fit the lower engine cover.
Lower the car.
Tighten the upper generator retaining bolt.
Tightening torque: 47 Nm (35 lbf ft)

Fit the intake manifold with crankcase ventilation hose to the valve cover.

Fit the upper engine cover.
Connect the negative battery cable and fit the battery cover.
Set the clock and reprogram the radio code.
Carry out a function check.
