Code 46, Rear Motor Frozen: Notes
There are 3 ABS actuator motors: one for each front brake, and one for rear brakes. Major components of each motor assembly are a motor, drive gear assembly, ball screw, nut, piston, and check valve. If ABS Control Module (ACM) determines that rear wheels are about to skid, it closes solenoid by-pass valve. Rear motor retracts piston to close check valve. Brake pressure is then modulated by hydraulic piston, under control of ACM. If motor is frozen, ACM disables ABS and turns on BRAKE and ANTI-LOCK warning lights.
