Diagnostic Aids

  1. Check for Code 95. If Code 95 is set, service it first.
  2. Suspected intermittents or opens at connectors can be detected with diagnostic service probe which permits voltage to be measured on wires without unplugging connectors. Ensure all terminals make good connection.
  3. When diagnosing intermittent problems, select MALF HISTORY from Scan tester ABS menu. Supplemental data can be used to duplicate problem.
    NOTE: System initialization alternates between left front/rear and right front/rear with each ignition cycle.
  4. ABS will initialize when vehicle is driven faster than 3 MPH (5 km/h).
  5. Brake switch is normally held open by brake pedal. Pressing brake allows switch to close.
