Code 41: Est Circuit Open Or Shorted: Notes

PCM monitors state of EST circuit and supplies an EST signal when engine is running (PCM is receiving RPM on reference circuit). DIS module has ability to control ignition coils in event of missing EST pulses from PCM. Code 41 will set if EST circuit is open, shorted to ground or shorted to voltage.
