Retrieving Codes
NOTE:
Scan tool is used to display all self-diagnostic information stored in PCM memory. For information on retrieving codes with scan tool, see manufacturer's information.
- Turn ignition on. DO NOT start engine. MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL) should glow. Insert jumper wire from terminal "B" (diagnostic test terminal) to terminal "A" (ground) of Data Link Connector (DLC). See Fig 1 .
- MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL) should begin to flash codes. To exit diagnostic mode, turn ignition off and remove jumper wire from DLC.
