Clearing Codes

DTCs and information flags are stored in PCM, general information and malfunction history. To clear trouble codes from general information, use scan tool following manufacturer's information or turn ignition switch to ON position and jumper connector test terminal "B" to ground terminal "A" at PCM diagnostic connector 3 times within 5 seconds. See Figure . Trouble codes will also clear automatically if they do not reoccur within 50 engine starts. Malfunction history codes and information flags can only be cleared using a scan tool.
