Charge Warning Light Does Not Light

  1. Visually check generator belt and wiring. Turn ignition switch to ON position (engine not running). Charge light should illuminate. If light does not illuminate, check IGN 1 and IGN 4 fuses.
  2. Check battery cable wire circuit (Red) between battery positive terminal and starter solenoid contacts. Check fusible link wire circuit between starter solenoid contact and generator battery terminal.
  3. Check Pink wire circuit between ignition switch and instrument panel junction block located under center of instrument panel, directly in front of console.
  4. Check Pink wire circuit between instrument panel junction block and instrument cluster charge light bulb. Check Brown wire circuit between instrument cluster charge light bulb and underhood junction block located in engine compartment on inner fender panel.
  5. Check Brown/White wire circuit between underhood junction block and generator terminal "L". Check instrument cluster, generator and ignition switch connections for poor contact.
