Transmitters Will Not Synchronize Or Program

  1. Connect jumper wire between Data Link Connector (DLC) terminals No. 4 and 8. Attempt to program transmitters, making sure to press down buttons firmly. See PROGRAMMING  . Remove jumper wire after programming transmitters. If transmitters can be programmed, system is okay. If transmitters cannot be programmed, go to next step.
  2. If both driver and passenger door switches operate correctly, go to next step. If both driver and passenger door switches do not operate correctly, remove BODY fuse from instrument panel junction block. If fuse is bad, replace fuse. Repair short to ground in Orange wire between RKE module Black 16-pin connector terminal "E" and instrument panel junction block Gray 68-pin connector terminal B8. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK  . If fuse is good, check for an open circuit or short to ground in Red wire between instrument panel junction block Black 68-pin connector terminal F5 and underhood junction block Black 2-pin connector terminal "B". Check IP BATT fuse and replace as necessary. Install BODY fuse. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK  .
  3. Measure voltage between RKE module Black 16-pin connector Orange wire and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open circuit in Orange wire. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK  .
  4. Measure voltage between RKE module Black 16-pin connector terminal "L" (Black/White wire) and ground. If battery voltage is present, repair open or short circuit to ground in Black/White wire. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK  . If battery voltage is not present, replace RKE module. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK  .
