Code 17, Enable Relay Coil Circuit Grounded: Notes

ABS module receives battery voltage when system enable relay contacts are closed. Voltage at switched battery terminal provides power for ABS motors and solenoids. If ABS module detects fault in this circuit, ABS operation will be disabled, and ABS and BRAKE warning lights will illuminate.
Code 17 will set if enable relay coil circuit is grounded. Code 17 will not set if a previous failure has already disabled ABS. Code 86 will also set and illuminate BRAKE warning light if rear ABS motor is not in home position.
