Code 76, Code 78, Solenoid Circuit Open Or Grounded: Notes
NOTE:
To identify circuits and terminals referenced in text and flowcharts, see WIRING DIAGRAM
.
Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) has 2 solenoid valves which control front hydraulic by-pass valves. During an ABS stop, ground is supplied to close valves and isolate brake pedal input. Low side of each solenoid is controlled by ABS module. High side of each solenoid is connected to battery voltage. Failure of solenoid circuitry will illuminate ABS light.
Code will set if solenoid circuit is open or grounded. This code can set at any time, except when a previous failure has disabled ABS. If failure occurs during initialization, Code 15 may also be set.
