Cooling Fan Stays On

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove cooling fan relay, located in underhood junction block. Reconnect negative battery cable. If cooling fan does not operate, go to next step. If cooling fan continues to operate, repair short to battery voltage in Light Blue wire between underhood junction block Brown 68-pin connector terminal "A11" and cooling fan motor connector terminal "B". Ensure proper cooling fan operation.
  2. Replace cooling fan relay. If cooling fan continues to operate, check for short to ground in Dark Green wire between underhood junction block Black 68-pin connector terminal "C10" and PCM Light Blue 32-pin connector terminal "J1C01". If Dark Green wire is okay, replace PCM. Ensure proper cooling fan operation.
