Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT: Do not damage the insulator panel when removing the regulator.
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement . The outer panel is removed in the illustration to show the location.
  2. Remove the speaker assembly from the door.
  3. Partially remove the water deflector to access the openings in the door structure.
  4. Remove the front door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Coupe)  or Front Side Door Window Replacement (Sedan/Wagon) . If the power regulator has failed in the full up position, lower the window and the regulator as an assembly to access the window insulator (slide clip) retainer tabs.
  5. Remove the regulator bolts (4 forward and 1 rear).
  6. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the regulator, if equipped.
  7. Collapse the arms of the regulator assembly.
  8. Use one hand through the speaker opening to rotate the regulator assembly to a vertical position and slide the regulator assembly out of the door.
