Code 16, Enable Relay Coil Circuit Open: Notes

ABS module receives battery voltage when system enable relay contacts are closed. Voltage at switched battery terminal provides power for ABS motors and solenoids. If ABS module detects fault in this circuit, ABS operation will be disabled, and ABS and BRAKE warning lights will illuminate.
Code 16 will set if enable relay coil circuit is open. This code can set during initialization. If conditions necessary to set Code 16 occur during ABS braking, Code 14 will be set. Code 16 will not set if a previous failure has already disabled ABS. Code 86 will also set and illuminate BRAKE warning light if rear ABS motor is not in home position.
