Removal & Installation: Notes
Some of the following service procedures require that Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) motors be cycled up and down using a scan tool. Service procedures are written specifically for Tech 1 scan tool. A generic scan tool may not be capable of performing all necessary service functions.
WARNING:
DO NOT drive or operate vehicle with anti-lock brake control assembly in tension-released position. With tension released, excessive pedal travel and reduced brake effectiveness could occur. Always perform scan tool SPECIAL TEST, RUN ABS MOTORS and PISTONS UP-HOME functions before driving vehicle.
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
