A/C Indicator Light Does Not Glow

  1. Check blower motor operation. If blower motor does not operate, go to next step. If blower motor operates, check RECIRC fuse (10-amp) in instrument panel junction block. If fuse is blown, go to step 3).
  2. Check voltage between ground and A/C-heater control panel (HVAC control head) Black 8-pin connector terminal "F" (Dark Green wire). Turn ignition switch to ON position. Select any blower motor speed. If battery voltage is present, replace blower motor (HVAC fan) switch. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Orange wire between blower motor switch 6-pin connector terminal "C" and instrument panel junction block 68-pin connector terminal "B9". Ensure proper compressor operation.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Check for short to ground in Purple wire between instrument panel junction block Black 68-pin connector terminal "F6" and A/C-heater control panel Black 8-pin connector terminal "C". Check for short to ground in Light Green wire and Pink/White wire between recirculation motor and recirculation switch. If wires are okay, go to next step. If wires are not okay, repair short to ground. Ensure proper compressor operation.
  4. Ensure ignition switch is in OFF position. Disconnect A/C-heater control panel Black 8-pin connector. Check for continuity between ground and A/C-heater control panel terminal "C" (Purple wire). Depress and release recirculation switch button. If continuity is present in either position switch is shorted to ground. Replace recirculation switch. Install RECIRC fuse (10-amp) and ensure proper compressor operation.
  5. Check voltage between ground and A/C-heater control panel (HVAC control head) Black 8-pin connector terminal "F" (Dark Green wire). Turn ignition switch to ON position. Select any blower motor speed. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, replace blower motor (HVAC fan) switch. Ensure proper compressor operation.
  6. Ensure ignition switch is in OFF position. Disconnect A/C-heater control panel Black 8-pin connector. Check voltage between A/C-heater control panel (HVAC control head) Black 8-pin connector terminal "C" (Purple wire) and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check for open Dark Green wire between the A/C-heater control panel Black 6-pin connector terminal "F" and instrument panel junction block Black 68-pin connector terminal "E6". Check for an open in Purple wire between A/C-heater control panel Black 8-pin connector terminal "C" and instrument panel junction block Black 68-pin connector terminal "F6". If wires are okay, replace instrument panel junction block. Ensure proper compressor operation.
  7. Check voltage between A/C-heater control panel Black 8-pin connector terminals "C" (Purple wire) and "F" (Black wire). Turn ignition switch to ON position. If battery voltage is present, replace recirculation motor switch. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Black wire between ground and A/C-heater control panel. Ensure proper compressor operation.
