Power Windows Do Not Operate

  1. Check PWR CONVCE fuse (30-amp) in underhood junction block. Check Red wire between underhood junction block and instrument panel junction block for short to ground or open. SeeWIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair circuit and replace fuse as needed. If fuse and circuit are good, go to next step.
  2. Check IGN3 fuse (30-amp) in underhood junction block. Check Red wire between underhood junction block and ignition switch for short to ground or open. Check Red wire between underhood junction block and HVAC system for short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair circuit and replace fuse as needed. If fuse and circuits are good, go to next step.
  3. Check Black wire between master switch assembly and left body ground splice pack for poor connection or open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Left-side body splice pack is located under driver's seat. Repair circuit as necessary. If ground circuit is okay, go to next step.
  4. Check IGN3 minifuse (10-amp) located in instrument panel junction block. Check Orange wire between ignition switch connector terminal "B" and instrument panel junction block connector for short to ground or open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair circuit and replace fuse as needed. If fuse and circuit are okay, go to next step.
  5. Check Purple wire between instrument panel junction block connector and master switch assembly for open or short. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair circuit as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  6. Check power window relay. Power window relay is located in instrument panel junction block. All junction block relays (except ABS and door lock) are interchangeable. Substitute a known-good relay from either junction block to check system. Replace as needed. If relay is okay, go to next step.
  7. Check Black wire between instrument panel junction block and instrument panel splice pack for poor connection or open. Instrument panel splice pack is taped to instrument panel harness, behind instrument panel cluster. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair circuit as necessary. If ground circuit is okay, go to next step.
  8. Check master switch assembly. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS.
