"S" Body (Prizm)

  1. Disconnect shift lock control module 5-pin connector (located under center console). Measure voltage between shift lock control module connector terminal No. 2 and ground while applying brake pedal. If voltage is 10-14 volts, replace shift lock control module, then go to step  3. If voltage is not 10-14 volts, go to next step.
  2. Repair open in BRAKE SIGNAL circuit between shift lock control module connector terminal No. 2 and terminal No. 21 of Gray connector C2, located in junction block No. 3 behind center of instrument panel, then go to next step. See Figure and Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  3. Ensure all components disconnected or removed during testing are reconnected and installed on vehicle. Ensure BTSI system operates correctly. See SHIFT INTERLOCK SOLENOID  under DESCRIPTION & OPERATION. If system does not operate correctly, repeat step  1.
