Diagnostic Procedures

  1. Perform On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) system check. See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing OBD system check, go to next step.
  2. Ensure there is no fuel injector-related DTCs are set. Diagnose affected DTCs first. If no other DTCs are set, check fuel level. Add as necessary. If fuel level is okay, go to next step.
  3. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Raise and hold engine speed at 1200 RPM. Using scan tool, monitor O2S1 sensor. If sensor voltage is about 100-900 mV, go to next step. If sensor voltage is not about 100-900 mV, go to DTC P0134: O2S CIRCUIT - INSUFFICIENT ACTIVITY - SENSOR 1 .
  4. Diagnose fuel system to determine cause of lack of fuel during heavy acceleration. See BASIC FUEL SYSTEM CHECKS in appropriate BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES article.
