Engine Does Not Crank, Solenoid Clicks
NOTE:
If vehicle is equipped with anti-theft system and starting system was not found to be at fault, check anti-theft system for proper operation. See appropriate ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
Ensure battery cables are clean and tight. Check for short or open in Red battery cable between positive battery terminal and starter solenoid. Repair as necessary. If battery cable is okay, check for mechanical engine seizure due to extreme cold conditions or mechanical failure. If engine is okay, replace starter assembly.
