Memory Mirrors
Door Control Modules (DCM) recall mirror positions. DCMs receive mirror horizontal and vertical position signals from mirror position sensors. Signals are used by DCMs for memory recall functions to determine horizontal and vertical position of both mirrors. Horizontal and vertical position sensors are variable resistors. DCMs provides 5 volt supply and ground to position sensors. DCMs monitor voltage level through position sensors through signal circuit. When memory No. 1 or memory No. 2 switch is pressed, a ground is supplied through memory switch circuit to Left Door Control Module (LDCM) and memory No. 1 or memory No. 2 input is pulled low. When LDCM detects low voltage on a memory input, LDCM will activate appropriate memory functions and also send a message on the serial data line to other systems responsible for memory recall functions (RDCM, radio, seats, HVAC). When LDCM sends a memory recall message on the serial data line, RDCM will command right mirror motor in appropriate direction until stored position sensor voltage level is achieved.
