Memory Seats

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: For additional information on power seats, see POWER SEATS - CORVETTE article.

Power seat switch assembly sends input signals to the Seat Control Module (SCM). Horizontal, front vertical, and rear vertical seat adjuster motors located within the lower motor assembly, are outputs of the SCM. Driver's seat position memory settings are stored in the SCM. Adjuster motor position sensors are located within lower motor assembly, and are inputs to the SCM. The SCM uses position sensor inputs when storing and recalling memory settings. Memory seat, and easy enter/exit operations are performed by the SCM. The Left Door Control Module (LDCM) controls when memory settings are stored and recalled by use of serial data line. The Body Control Module (BCM) controls when the easy enter/exit operation occurs, by use of serial data line. BCM stores Regular Production Option (RPO) code configuration that sends signals to SCM whether or not power tilt/telescoping steering column option is active. RPO code is located on service parts ID label located inside glove box on door. RPO code for power tilt/telescoping steering column is N37. This RPO code configuration must be correct and received by SCM or power seat and telescoping steering column operation will be inoperative or incorrect.
