Circuit Description
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve is used to reduce combustion temperature by introducing non-volatile exhaust gas into combustion chambers. Voltage on EGR solenoid signal wire should be zero to 5 volts. This voltage is monitored continuously. DTC will set if ECM determines that no signal is being received and when engine speed is less than 40 RPM, battery voltage 7.5-15.0 volts and when these conditions exists for 500 milliseconds.
