Diagnostic Aids

Check for intermittent circuit faults on throttle motor driver circuit. A circuit fault can cause heating and force ECM to enter into thermal protection mode. Allow engine to cool down. Recheck DTCs. If this DTC resets, an internal ECM short to ground on throttle motor driver may exist. Replace ECM.
