Removal & Installation

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery terminal. Disconnect brakelines from Brake Pressure Module Valve (BPMV) on EBTCM assembly and master cylinder. EBTCM is located near brake master cylinder. Plug open brakelines to prevent fluid loss and contamination. Disconnect ABS harness connector. Remove mounting nuts and bracket from assembly. Remove EBTCM from vehicle.
  2. To separate ABS from BPMV, disconnect pump motor harness connector. Remove ABS-to-BPMV mounting screws. Separate ABS control module from BPMV. DO NOT attempt to repair damaged solenoid pack or control unit assemblies.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all mounting screws and brakelines to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Fill brake fluid reservoir and bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
