Torque Converter Lock-Up Signal At Transmission

  1. Warm engine to operating temperature. Raise vehicle and support drive wheels. Support suspension where necessary to prevent damage to drive axles.
  2. Disconnect torque converter clutch harness connector at transmission. Connect a test light between appropriate torque converter clutch harness connector terminals. Start engine and place transmission in Drive. Accelerate vehicle to 45 MPH and note test light.
  3. If test light does not illuminate, check for open or short to ground in solenoid power supply circuit of torque converter clutch harness connector. Also, check for open in ground circuit between torque converter clutch harness connector and PCM. If circuit is okay, see TORQUE CONVERTER LOCK-UP SIGNAL FROM PCM .
