Oil Pump And Front Cover Assembly

TOOLS REQUIRED:  SA9103E Regulator Valve Remover/Replacer

  1. Install relief valve and oil pump assembly:
    1. If the relief valve was removed, replace it with a new one. Coat the valve with engine oil and tap it into the cover bore until it seats using Regulator Valve Remover/Replacer SA9103E and a hammer.

      NOTE: If removed, the oil pump assembly must be packed with petroleum jelly to prime the pump.
    2. Install the drive and driven rotors into the pump body with chamfer toward the front oil seal.
      NOTE: Make sure the nine holes in the front cover are clean. The oil pump cover screws are coated with a sealant to prevent oil leakage. New screws must be installed.
    3. Install the pump body cover with new screws.

      Torque: 

      Oil Pump Cover-to-Front Cover: 11 N.m (8 ft-lbs)
