Input Shaft Disassembly

IMPORTANT:  Synchronizer hub and sleeve must be kept together as matched set. Note spline alignment marks on hub and sleeve (indicated by the arrows).

  1. Use press to disassemble input shaft. Place support under 3rd drive gear.

  2. Remove 5th gear bearing, inner-race, and thrust washer.

  3. Remove input shaft bearing.
  4. Remove 4th drive gear thrust washer.
  5. Remove 4th drive gear.
  6. Remove 4th gear blocker ring and spring.
  7. Remove 4th gear bearing.
  8. Remove 4th gear bearing race.
  9. Remove 3rd/4th synchronizer sleeve.
  10. Remove 3rd/4th synchronizer hub.
  11. Remove 3rd gear blocker ring and spring.
  12. Remove 3rd drive gear and bearing.
