Test A: Traction Control Diagnostic Check

  1. Install scan tool. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Check DTCs. If DTCs are present, diagnose affected DTC(s). If no DTCs are present, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect scan tool. Start engine. Observe LED on traction control switch. If LED turns on after 1-3 seconds, go to next step. If LED does not turn on, go to TEST B: TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH INDICATOR LED DOES NOT TURN ON  .
  3. Toggle traction control switch. If LED turn off, go to next step. If LED does not turn off, go to TEST C: TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH INDICATOR LED DOES NOT TURN OFF  .
  4. Turn ignition off for 10 seconds. Restart engine. Observe LOW TRACTION indicator light. If indicator light illuminates after 1-3 seconds, system is operating properly. If indicator light does not illuminate after 1-3 seconds, check indicator light circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
