Diagnostic Procedures
- Connect scan tool. Start engine and operate for one minute. Using scan tool, monitor HO2S HEATER - LOW VOLT or HO2S HEATER - OPEN test. If test fails, go to next step. If test does not fail, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Check EMISS fuse (10-amp). Replace as necessary. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect HO2S2 harness connector. Connect Noid Light (SA9194E) between HO2S2 harness connector terminals "C" (Black/White wire) and "D" (Pink wire). Using scan tool, monitor HO2S HEATER - LOW VOLT or HO2S HEATER - OPEN test. If test passes, check for terminal tightness at HO2S2 connector. If test does not pass, go to next step.
- If noid light is on, repair short to ground or PCM in Black/White wire. If noid light is not on, go to next step.
- Connect a test light between ground and Pink wire at harness connector. If test light illuminates, check for open in Black/White wire or terminal tightness to PCM. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Pink wire between underhood fuse block and HO2S2.
