Diagnostic Procedures

  1. Connect scan tool. Start engine and operate for one minute. Using scan tool, monitor HO2S HEATER - LOW VOLT or HO2S HEATER - OPEN test. If test fails, go to next step. If test does not fail, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  2. Check EMISS fuse (10-amp). Replace as necessary. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect HO2S2 harness connector. Connect Noid Light (SA9194E) between HO2S2 harness connector terminals "C" (Black/White wire) and "D" (Pink wire). Using scan tool, monitor HO2S HEATER - LOW VOLT or HO2S HEATER - OPEN test. If test passes, check for terminal tightness at HO2S2 connector. If test does not pass, go to next step.
  3. If noid light is on, repair short to ground or PCM in Black/White wire. If noid light is not on, go to next step.
  4. Connect a test light between ground and Pink wire at harness connector. If test light illuminates, check for open in Black/White wire or terminal tightness to PCM. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Pink wire between underhood fuse block and HO2S2.
