Diagnostic Procedures
NOTE:
If DTC U1064, U1300 or U1301 is set, diagnose affected DTC(s) first. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
- Perform On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) system check. See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing OBD system check, go to next step.
- Start and operate engine for 10 seconds. Engine may stall after 5 seconds if an incorrect or no Passlock(R) password from BCM is received. Using scan tool, monitor status of DTC P1626. If DTC is active, go to next step. If DTC is not active, problem is intermittent. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- If scan tool indicates that DTC U1064 is active, diagnose DTC U1064. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If scan tool does not indicate that DTC U1064 is active, go to next step.
- Verify if scan tool can communicate with BCM and PCM. If scan tool is not communicating, go to step 1 . If scan tool is communicating, replace BCM.
