Test A: Power Windows Do Not Operate
- Check WINDOW fuse (30-amp) in underhood junction block. Check Red wire between underhood fuse block and instrument panel fuse block for short to ground or open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair circuit and replace fuse as needed. If fuse and circuit are okay, go to next step.
- Check IGN fuse (30-amp) in underhood fuse block. Check Red wire between underhood fuse block and ignition switch for short to ground or open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair circuit and replace fuse as needed. If fuse and circuits are okay, go to next step.
- Check Black wire between master switch assembly terminal "A" and left body ground splice pack for poor connection or open. See Fig 1. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Left-side body splice pack is located under driver's seat. Repair circuit as necessary. If ground circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Check Brown wire between ignition switch connector and instrument panel fuse block connector for short to ground or open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair circuit as needed. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Check Purple wire between instrument panel fuse block connector and master switch assembly terminal "G" for open or short. See Fig 1. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair circuit as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Check power window relay. Power window relay is located in instrument panel fuse block. All junction block relays (except ABS and door lock) are interchangeable. Substitute a known-good relay from either fuse block to check system. Replace as needed. If relay is okay, go to next step.
- Check Black wire between instrument panel fuse block and instrument panel splice pack for poor connection or open. Instrument panel splice pack is taped to instrument panel harness, behind instrument panel cluster. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair circuit as necessary. If ground circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Check master switch assembly. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS.
