Control Lever Boot Assembly (On-Vehicle): Removal

  1. Disable SIR system. For 2000 models, see DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . For 2001 models, see DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . For 2002 models, see DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove console. Refer to CONSOLE  .
  3. Unclip the boot assembly from the plastic retainer in the rear of the shifter control assembly by pulling rearward and upward on the boot.

  4. Unclip the boot assembly from the plastic retainer in the front of the shifter control assembly and remove the boot.
