Brake Transmission Shift Interlock Solenoid

The gearshift lever cannot be moved from the Park position without simultaneously applying the brake pedal with ignition switch turned to the ON position. When the brake pedal is applied, the stoplamp switch completes the circuit to the BTSI solenoid. Energizing the BTSI solenoid unlocks gearshift lever from Park position. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
