Warning Messages

Driver's Information Center (DIC) displays warning messages for tire pressure monitoring system. When message is first displayed, 2 chimes will be heard. To acknowledge the message, press the RESET button. This will let the vehicle know that the message has been noted. The message and a chime will be heard every 10 minutes until the condition is corrected. These messages are as follow:
- LOW TIRE PRESSURE
Indicates tire pressure in one or more tires is less than 25 psi (172 kPa). Next to LOW TIRE PRESSURE message, appropriate tire that has low pressure will be displayed (i.e., LF). If more than one tire is low, message will be displayed for each tire. Stop vehicle as soon as safe and check tire pressure. If this is a reoccurring problem, check for Technical Service Bulletins (TSB). - FLAT TIRE
Indicates tire pressure in one or more tires is less than 5 psi (34 kPa). Next to FLAT TIRE message, appropriate tire that is flat will appear (i.e., LF). After FLAT TIRE message appears, MAX SPEED 55 MPH (90 km/h) will be displayed. Do not exceed this speed. Next message to appear is REDUCED HANDLING. If more than one tire is flat, message will be displayed for each tire. Stop vehicle as soon as safe and check tire pressure. - HIGH TIRE PRESSURE - (LF, LR, RF, RR)
Indicates tire pressure in one or more tires is greater than 42 psi (290 kPa). Next to HIGH TIRE PRESSURE message, appropriate tire that has excessive pressure will be displayed (i.e., LF). If more than one tire is high, message will be displayed for each tire. Stop vehicle as soon as safe and check tire pressure. - SERVICE TIRE MON SYS
Indicates tire pressure monitoring system is not operating properly. If one of the sensors is missing and vehicle is driven, message will be displayed after 10 minutes. If all sensors are missing, message will come on after 15 to 20 minutes.
