Park Lock Cable: Installation

  1. Install the new park lock cable. See Fig 5 . Route cable around HVAC module fin.
  2. Route cable through accelerator pedal bracket retainer clip. See Fig 6 .
  3. Install park lock cable fitting end to control base assembly. See Fig 4 . Ensure to seat fitting completely. Attach park lock cable end terminal to plastic lock-out lever on the control assembly.
  4. Snap park lock cable assembly onto ignition module. See Fig 7 . Install lower column cover, top column cover, and fasteners. Install ignition switch bezel. See Fig 1 .
  5. Align peg of ignition bezel with cut-out in lower shroud. Snap into place.
    6. NOTE: The ignition key must be in the ACC position when installing the ignition cylinder into the ignition module.
  6. Adjust the park lock cable assembly. See PARK LOCK CABLE  under ADJUSTMENTS. Install console. See FLOOR CONSOLE  . Enable the SIR system. See AIR BAG DEACTIVATION PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION.
