Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments

TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH ADJUSTMENT




1. Shift transaxle into NEUTRAL position.
2. Remove shift control cable from transaxle range switch lever.




3. Remove transaxle range switch lever nut and lever.
4. Loosen transaxle range switch bolts.




5. Insert J 41545 as shown and rotate switch until tool drops into position.
6. Tighten transaxle range switch bolts.

Torque:
Transaxle Range Switch Bolts: 20 N.m (15 ft-lbs)

7. Remove alignment tool.




8. Install transaxle range switch lever and nut.

Torque:
Transaxle Range Switch Lever Nut: 35 N.m (26 ft-lbs)

IMPORTANT: After adjusting the switch, verify that engine only starts in PARK or NEUTRAL. If engine starts in any other position, readjust switch.




9. Install shift control cable to transaxle range switch lever and verify proper operation.
